FAQ’s In Medicine 1

In my day to day practice,  I see alot of different medical problems. Many of the problems are straight forward; however, some can be quite complex and require an assessment of multiple areas of the body. The practice of internal medicine involves the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of medical issues involving all systems of the body. Most of my patients are older adults. Many of them are afflicted with more than one medical problem. It is not unusual to see a patient with diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, chronic lung disease, and abnormal lipids come into the office on 10-15 medications that are necessary for them to carry on their daily  activities. The disruption of one system can affect the appropriate functioning of all the others. It is imperative that we all begin taking action while we are younger to help preserve our overall health.

Despite the complexity of some patients and their medical problems, I frequently get asked similar questions in my day to day office practice.

These questions are frequently asked by the young and elderly. Every physician could come up with their own list of most frequently asked questions; however, I suspect that all will find the following list very similar to their own.

Why do I feel so weak?

Why do I feel fatigued?

Why is my hair falling out?

Why do I have burning in my chest

Why do I feel extra beats from my heart

Why do my eyes itch?

Why do my ears itch?

Why do my ears ring, pop?

Why do I see spots?

Why do I have headaches?

Why am I dizzy?

Why is my throat sore?

Why am I having trouble swallowing?

Why do I have heart burn?

Why do I have chest pain?

Why is my heart racing?

Why is my heart fluttering?
