There isn’t anyone out there that hasn’t experienced rough times and needed someone to turn to. Someone that would just listen.

There will come a time when those that took the time to listen will need your support and it is imperative that you be there for them.

Be there to just listen. They may have had their heart broke, lost a job, experiencing a failing relationship, death in the family, and the list goes on. Initially, no amount of words can make them feel at ease. Time will have to pass, so that they can begin to look at things objectively.

Right now, your presence may be all that is needed by your friend, and they will definitely show their appreciation when they are able to think more clearly.

Let your friend know you are there for them and will get through things together.

When they are thinking clearly, then you can help them make sense of the situation.

You also need to be there to push them to get back on their feet and start living life again.

A loyal honest friend is invaluable and can help the other see things more objectively especially after they have experienced a life changing event. A good friend will give you an honest opinion about that special someone you are involved with. It can be difficult to see the true colors of people when your viewing them with love in your eyes.

Do not be afraid to give brutally honest opinions. A true friendship will weather any hard feelings that come from sincere honesty.

A true friend will do and say what is necessary to protect you from yourself even if it means losing your friendship.

We all need someone to turn to when times are hard. We all need someone we can depend on  and know they will be there for us through the good and bad times.

A true friend will take your feelings into consideration when speaking and never say anything to intentionally hurt you.

A true friend will take the keys even when you think you can drive, because they know it is in the best interest of everyone.

A true friend will be there to hold your hand when you are treading outside your comfort zone.

A true friend will laugh at your humor and see your beauty instead of dwelling on your defects.
